Today, more and more theaters are turning to corporate ticketing agencies to manage their box office operations off-site. Bucking this national trend, The Music Hall is committed to maintaining a full-service in-house box office. What does that mean for you? Our staff, who live and work in our community, will help answer your questions and provide you with the information you need to know. Plus, we’re excited to be able to help you purchase tickets to productions at Ogunquit Playhouse during their summer season, with more community partners to come. Whether you have questions about seat selection or where to grab dinner in town, from the beginning of your night to the end, we’re happy to help!

BUYERS BEWARE!

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE: BEWARE OF THIRD-PARTY TICKET SCAMS 🚨

We do not work with any third-party ticket resellers. Please do not purchase tickets without starting from our website (which you’re on right now!). Internet searches for our events can and often will show third-party resellers before our website. Any sites that we don’t link to do not sell tickets on our behalf, and you will pay much, much more than the actual ticket cost with no guarantee of receiving tickets (real or counterfeit). Purchases made through these third-party websites are not actual Music Hall transactions and cannot be returned to or validated by us.

There are occasional artist-mandated fan club ticket sales through the artist’s website with pre-approved Music Hall seats – don’t hesitate to check with us before proceeding if you have any questions.

When in doubt, don’t hesitate to contact Patron Services first (603.436.2400 / info@themusichall.org) – that’s why we’re here!

TICKETING FEES

The fees you pay when purchasing tickets cover the expenses associated with offering both in-person and user-friendly online box office services. As labor and technology costs continue to rise, we continue to work hard to manage our nonprofit business to keep ticket fees as low as possible while ensuring that they are considerably less than or on par with other venues, especially those who have outsourced their ticketing to national ticketing companies. To avoid sticker shock at checkout, the prices you see when selecting and purchasing tickets online will include all applicable fees.

Historic Theater & Live Under The Arch event ticket fees:
Phone and Online – $2.50 ($16 and under), $8.50 ($17 and above)
Walk-up – $8.50 ($30 and above)

Lounge event ticket fees:
Phone, Online, Walk-up – $2.50 ($16 and under), $6 ($17 and above)

Shipping fees:
Mailed tickets: $3 per order

GIFT CERTIFICATES & TICKET CREDIT

Online gift cards are available to purchase in-person and online. Gift cards can be redeemed in person, over the phone, or online. Please contact the Patron Services team if you have any questions or need any assistance.

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

Can’t make a performance? Music Hall members at any level may return their tickets to the Box Office up to 48 hours before the event to receive a credit for the value of the tickets towards future ticket purchases. Credits are valid for 12 months after they are issued; after that time they are automatically transferred to support The Music Hall’s Gift the Gift of Magic program. Individuals whose ticket credit is converted into supporting GGM will be recognized in the Season Playbill.

The Music Hall reserves the right to update the exchange policy. Refunds will only be offered if the show is canceled.

WEATHER

If the performers are at the theater, the show will go on. The Music Hall does not offer refunds or day-of exchanges to those unable to attend an event because of weather. Please check our website or contact the Patron Services team for the latest information if you have questions about upcoming performances.

PARKING

The Music Hall is located in downtown Portsmouth and does not have designated parking. Patrons may be dropped off at the corner of Chestnut St. & Porter St. while a companion finds parking.

We encourage all guests to visit ParkPortsmouth.com for the latest updates and parking options. Here are a few parking options we’ve found to be helpful:

CHILDREN’S TICKETS

Infants under age 2 do not need a ticket to attend events. Children ages 2 and older need a ticket for entry, even if they’ll be sitting in a parent’s lap. Unless otherwise noted, there are no age restrictions on events, although we may include content advisories to help inform your choices on whether an event is appropriate for your family.

Patron Services at The Music Hall Makes It Easy

Today, more and more theaters are turning to corporate ticketing agencies to manage their box office operations off-site. Bucking this national trend, The Music Hall is committed to maintaining a full-service in-house box office. What does that mean for you as a patron?

First and foremost, our staff will help you select seats that are best for what you desire and provide you with the information you need to know. Second, they live here in the Seacoast so they can provide directions and recommend local restaurants, hotels, places to park, and other area attractions. Third, our staff can mail your tickets at no extra charge, which is a great convenience since many other theaters charge for shipping tickets. Fourth, if The Music Hall used an outside ticketing agency, fees would be much higher and you’d likely pay double.
