Sensory Supports Now Available at The Music Hall
The Music Hall, in partnership with Twenty-One Senses, is working to identify sensory supports that can be available for any guest, while attending events at either the Historic Theater or The Lounge.
These beloved gathering spaces provide entertainment, learning and shared experiences. But for some in the community, this experience may be overwhelming due to the crowds, commotion, and sensory triggers in the environment.
The Music Hall has added sensory supports at both of their locations, creating a welcoming space for those whose struggles may not be visible. At any event, there are sensory bags available for guests of all ages to utilize. Each sensory bag contains an array of tools, including:
- A wiggle cushion
- Sound reducing earmuffs
- Weighted lap blanket
- A pair of sunglasses
- Fidget tools
- Going to The Music Hall social story
Sensory bags may be checked out from the Historic Theater Box Office for free.
Going to The Music Hall Social Story is a short and simple story including visuals and written explanation to help an individual know what to expect when visiting The Music Hall. This tool can often help to decrease anxiety for an individual prior to attending an event. It is available to download HERE.
The Music Hall continues to have additional accessibility supports available, including wheelchair seating, assistive listening devices, booster cushions for children and seat and back cushions.
Our staff make every effort to assist and accommodate ALL patrons. For specific accessibility information, please call the Box Office at 603.436.2400.
