A Kitchen – and Home – For All Time
While the homeowners’ address hasn’t changed for decades, their kitchen sure did. It was remodeled in 2015 with an eye toward making the most of a small space. They wanted a clean and white feel, glass and open shelving, and plenty of deep drawers. Of course, having lived in this home for so long, these people had a lot of time to think about what they wanted in a kitchen remodel. What a payoff they got.
This kitchen may be on the smaller side, but it doesn’t seem so. It’s big on design and special features. Like a handy under-counter cabinet on wheels. And a drawer microwave. And a great little office area next to the refrigerator. The stove and oven are perfectly positioned in the corner.
The area is mostly white, which looks so clean against the stainless appliances, the wood floor, and the smart-looking Sleek Concrete Caesarstone countertops. These basic tones and a neutral glass backsplash are contrasted with color, including from artwork by the homeowner and a gorgeous, colorful piece by the late Arthur DiMambro, who was a well-regarded local artist.
This kitchen is part of an open floor plan and, as such, it is part of a truly terrific whole. Beyond the interior itself, an abundance of windows brings in light and the loveliest of views of a fabulous property.
