A year in review 2017
The biggest event this year in my social media world, was the creation of Live with Kait and Alexis our weekly Facebook Live talk show that we broadcast every Wednesday. This past spring, while I was home recovering from my broken ankle, I rediscovered my love for Live with Kelly as well as Kathie Lee and Hoda as I was watching them, I thought it might be fun to be a talk show host. Fast forward a few month, our partners, the fabulous Raka Creative told us that we should do more native video. After some convincing, and a lot of begging, I convinced our Membership Coordinator, Alexis Hahalis, to be my cohost, she is after all my buddy for most of my Music Hall adventures, as seen above when we made friends with Sally Strurhers… From there we created our show. We’ve had some fabulous guests, and it’s just getting started. You can check out our weekly show here.
You may have noticed, Chestnut Street has gotten brighter this year. Our new fabulous Marquee went up a little over a month ago, and I have LOVED seeing all of you post pictures in front of it. All of us here at The Music Hall are so proud of this and we are thrilled to see that you all are loving it as much as we are.
While we’re on the topic of improvements, we’ve made great strides in making the outside of our Historic Theater match the inside, but there’s still so much more to come. Keep an eye out this spring and summer for the completion of the Chestnut Street Improvement project.
While there’s been a lot going on outside, I’d be remiss if I didn’t talk about all of the great shows we’ve had this year. Each month I think it can’t get any better, but it did. I mean, I got to meet PAT BENATAR(with Alexis of course)!!!!, see Trey Anastasio perform solo for only the third time EVER, two shows of Ray Lamontagne, and that’s just three of the shows that knocked our socks off this year. Oh, and what I’m hearing, the 2018 lineup is looking fabulous, so keep an eye out.
Last year, my resolution was to do something that scared me, and I was so fortunate that Patricia Lynch, our Executive Director and Margaret Talcott, Writers Producer, let me moderate one of my favorite authors. While terrifying, it was such a cool experience and gave me a whole new level of understanding of how incredible it is that we have so many great authors. It’s a lot of work to prepare for one of those interviews!
Last but certainly not least, I have to mention White Christmas. What a show! I’m currently trying to convince people (Alexis) that we should take tap dancing classes. It was such a heartwarming start to my holiday season, and we are so excited that so many of you came out to join us for it.
Thank you all, my loyal blog readers, for being the best there is. I hope you all have a happy, safe, and healthy New Year!
