Help us give the gift of magic

The other day, while reading the New York Times, I came across an article about the giving the gift of experience. They made the case that instead of giving material objects, people should give gifts that create memories. This article has been a hot topic of conversation with the staff here at The Music Hall, as we are in the business of creating magical memories and getting ready for Beauty and the Beast to grace our historic stage. #MyMusicHall: Sara Curry

I first met Sara Curry when my friend talked me into taking a Bikram Yoga class at Sara’s studio six years ago. While Bikram ended up being a passing interest of mine, I was thrilled that I got the chance to meet and learn from her. Filling the Hall with local elementary students

Today we had our first School Day’s Series show of our season. This is by far the most adorable programming that we have here at The Music Hall. For just $6 local elementary students come see their favorite books come to life on the Historic Theater’s stage. I love watching all of the kids come in to the theater, some of them for the very first time, dressed in their very best outfits, all bursting with excitement that only a field trip can bring. Looking down from the balcony it always reminds me of a little ant farm watching all of the kids wiggling around in their seats, so excited to see the show. Read More Read More

Thanks for a fabulous Telluride by the Sea

This year, as I pulled my Telluride by the Sea staff shirt out, it occurred to me, TbtS weekend is like summer camp. People come from all over the place to spend the weekend watching movies here in Portsmouth that only a handful of other people have seen. Then we all get to talk about them, what we liked, what we hated, what we’re looking forward to, I mean who knew Emma Stone could sing and dance? Read More Read More

Telluride tricks and tips

September is my favorite month, it is the start of fall, the beginning of football (I’m happy to share that I’m undefeated in both of my fantasy leagues), the Fairy House tour takes place (I have my wings ready), my birthday, and the Telluride by the Sea Film Festival comes to The Music Hall. Telluride is my favorite weekend at The Music Hall. I love that our little town gets some of the best movies before they are released, and I get to see them with some of my very favorite people.
