This summer we are happy to be back to our original time slot. There is so much great music to look forward! I am especially excited for a number of artists that will be performing on The Music Hall’s stage this summer. We will be celebrating the music of the renowned Grammy Award-winning, guitar-shredding, desert blues group Tinariwen on July 25. Brazil’s Seu Jorge makes his long-awaited Seacoast return on August 18. Discover the talents of Lauren Ruth Ward when she makes her Portsmouth debut at the Music Hall Loft on July 19. I first met Kim Richey when I was a student at the Berklee College of Music and made a special trip down to Nashville with a group of students. She was a guest speaker at a studio in Nashville’s Music Row. Kim’s down to earth persona and stories of coming to music later in life were inspiring. As her career progressed, she wrote songs that eventually found their way to artists like Trisha Yearwood and the Dixie Chicks—and garnered her a Grammy nomination. She comes to town on Sunday, April 15 to promote her latest album Edgeland and to perform as part of our Live at The Loft series. Read on for our recent conversation about life, music, and songwriting.Read More
