From the Unbelievable to the Shockingly Real
Not in my 10+ years’ producing our literary series alongside Patricia Lynch have I launched such an exciting and varied series of spring of events – truly, an embarrassment of riches! We feel very lucky to have such distinct voices, masterful minds, and brilliant insight coming our way…
Saddle up for C.J. Box on April 6 and ride along with everyone’s favorite Wyoming game warden in The Disappeared. Don’t miss the remarkable NBC correspondent Katy Tur visiting Writers on a New England Stage on Sunday, April 8 with her book Unbelievable about being on the campaign trail with Donald Trump. She and Virginia Prescott, from series co-presenter NH Public Radio, should have a great conversation!
Next we celebrate May Day with experts from the New England Wild Flower Society, learning about Native Plants For New England Gardens. And on Wed., May 9, Pulitzer Prize-winner Richard Russo joins us to share insight into his life as a writer, teacher, friend, and reader – all from his first collection of essays, The Destiny Thief. What a treat! We’ll close the month laughing with “Judge” John Hodgman as he rambles, with mixed emotions, through Vacationland.
Finally, for June, Patricia and I brought home these “goodies” from our yearly NYC industry meetings: talk-of-the-town bestselling novelist Celeste Ng (Little Fires Everywhere), in discussion with writer Joe Hill (The Fireman) on June 7; and Pulitzer Prize-winner Jennifer Egan, coming to the Historic Theater on Tue., June 26 with her bestselling kaleidoscopic history, Manhattan Beach. Do join us!
