Grace, Style, and YouTube
I’m sure I’ll get some blowback from this, but these new YouTube celebrities are women who are obviously talented, have taken the internet by storm creating a new subculture. Already millionaires at the age of 30, with bestselling books and deals with Netflix, these women are teaching a new generation of young women that you have the power to become successful as long as your work hard.
Next Thursday, February 4, we’ll be welcoming one of these women, Grace Helbig as part of our Writers on a New England Stage Series, presented in partnership with New Hampshire Public Radio. Grace will be here with her newest book, Grace & Style: The Art of Pretending You Have It, a style guide aimed at the 12-24 year old set. It’s a charming book with tips on how to best online shop (make sure to check for coupon codes), the importance of sweatpants, and most importantly, staying true to your personal style. It’s a fun, easy read, that delivers empowering advice without the trendy buzzwords and a large dose of humility.
If you, like myself, haven’t been exposed to this new phenomenon, I encourage you to join us next week.
