Reading, ‘riting, & ‘rithmetic with Our School Days Series
We’re so focused on literature right now even the shows are about books! This month we jump back into our School Days Series with two productions, both based on beloved children’s stories. Dog Loves Books, a musical retelling of the tale of a dog opening a bookstore, uses clever scenarios to demonstrate the power of imagination. Then, in The Pout-Pout Fish, a series of adventures in ridiculous rhyme help Mr. Fish learn to turn the poutiest of frowns upside down.
We know arts experiences like these can be a source of joy in a child’s day and create fond memories. Beyond that, research has demonstrated the power of the arts to reinforce learning, making other lessons memorable as well. The Music Hall is pleased to be one of the largest providers of arts education in the Seacoast region, making curriculum enhancement and out-of-classroom cultural education accessible with low-priced shows and thought-provoking discussions.
We are grateful for your contribution to this effort, as well as that of our sponsors: D.F. Richard Energy, Cognia, the Demoulas Foundation, Eversource Energy, the French Foundation, the Fuller Foundation, Heinemann Publishing, and the Hesed Foundation.
