These gatherings are where we fire up the neurons, where we meet old friends and make new friends, where we talk about everything from politics to popular culture to personal updates (don’t get me started on internet dating). There’s always a new intellectual or cultural avenue to explore. For me, it’s going to be tomorrow’s Opera Circle discussion with Dennis Kleinman,followed by The Met @ The Music Hall showing of La Traviata. I’ve never been an opera fan, but Dennis makes the HD opera broadcast sound so compelling—in his words,“thrilling entertainment”—that I have to give it try. To be continued. . .
