Sponsor Spotlight: Jumpin’ Jay’s Fish Café, Moxy Restaurant, The Franklin Oyster House
Allison Crosscup: Can you tell us a little about each of the restaurants that have come together to sponsor this year’s Telluride by the Sea Film Festival?
Jay McSharry: Jumpin’ Jay’s is going on 15 years in historic downtown Portsmouth. We pride ourselves with innovative seafood dishes and serving the freshest seafood possible.
Moxy is a modern American tapas restaurant focusing on smaller plates meant for sharing, which take their inspiration from local farmers, culture and history.
The Franklin Oyster House is our newest restaurant and now the closest of all our restaurants to the Music Hall. We are reviving the tradition of the Franklin House of Fleet Street, which shucked and served oysters in 1867. Today, The Franklin Oyster House is serving oysters from East and West to pair with progressive dishes and cocktails.
AC: Jumpin’ Jay’s Fish Café and The Franklin Oyster House will each be offering a Cinemange special during the festival weekend. Can you share more about these specials and what visitors may expect?
JM: Both Jumpin’ Jay’s and The Franklin Oyster House will be offering a 3 Course Pre Fixe menu at $35 from 4-5pm.
AC: Why have you chosen to partner with The Music Hall and what do you value most from this partnership?
JM: Our partnership with the Music Hall is a no brainer. The Music Hall brings quality entertainment to the seacoast and serves as a vital economic engine.
AC: Is there a film or films from past Telluride by the Sea festivals that stand out as particularly memorable?
JM: The standout films for me were Labor Day and Twelve Years a Slave. We are so lucky as a community to have the opportunity to see such quality films.
AC: Is there anything else you would like to add about being a Music Hall sponsor?
JM: Supporting the Music Hall is money well spent. By supporting the Telluride by the Sea Festival, specifically, we hope to help sustain the Music Hall film program as a whole.
