Spreading Cheer
At The Music Hall we are proud of the work we do to keep our programs and events accessible —both economically and physically. During the holiday season, we shift that effort into high gear with our Give the Gift of Magic campaign to provide free tickets to families in need. We rely on your support for that initiative, which was first inspired and underwritten by Morgan & Tara Rutman. The Rutmans have continued their support and, for the second year in a row, Optima Bank & Trust has provided a matching gift.
Last year Give the Gift of Magic was such a success that we were inspired to expand the reach of that program—as well as a program to bring veterans and their families to the Theater free of charge. This year tickets will be distributed by an expanded roster of community partners: Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire and Arts in Reach are now participating, along with Greater Seacoast Community Health (formerly Families First Health and Support Center and Goodwin Community Health of Somersworth) and Cross Roads House in Portsmouth. If funds allow and we are able to meet their needs, we will continue to expand our reach, bringing additional organizations into the program.
We are also delighted to once again recognize the generosity of Michael Kane of The Kane Company, and Jim Teetzel of Wilcox Industries. These two joined forces to sponsor a veterans night last December and have renewed their support this year, underwriting a fund that will bring 100 veterans and their families to Elf The Musical. In partnership with Veterans Count, The Music Hall will distribute complimentary tickets to thank our honored veterans for their service.
