The Oscars are coming! See nominated films at TMH.
I continued to watch the Oscars as I got older, even though I was greatly disappointed in the Academy for snubbing Leo for his performance in Titanic. Somehow I had still never heard of, much less seen most of the films nominated, then I started working at The Music Hall. Our talented film curators work their magic each awards season and bring in the Oscar favorites to our theaters. This awards season we have screened The Martian, Spotlight, Room, Mustang, and Brooklyn (if you haven’t seen Brooklyn it’s playing tonight don’t miss it), coming up we’ve got The Danish Girl and 45 Years as well as The Oscar Nominated Live Action and Animated short films.
If you haven’t had the chance to see a movie at either of our venues, this month is a great time to check them out. The Loft on Congress is a cozy theater is showing the Oscar Short Films as well as 45 Years. For those of you who didn’t have the chance to see 45 Year’s at last year’s Telluride by the Sea, don’t miss it. Charlotte Rampling’s performance is haunting, powerful, and beautiful. Our Historic Theater that many of you are more familiar with for concerts is hosting some of the bigger movie such as Daish Girl. Watching a movie at the HT always makes me feel like I’m at the premiere of the movie, with the large screen set in the middle of the stage and the velvet seats.
Check out our calendar to see what’s playing when and take it from me, order your tickets online and skip the line! See you at the movies
