Dr. Beth Orcutt has been Vice President for Research at Bigelow Laboratory since 2022 and a Senior Research Scientist since 2012. She is an award-winning, internationally recognized expert on deep-sea microbiology. Regularly called upon by government to advise on deep-sea matters, Dr. Orcutt is actively engaged in informing emerging regulations on deep-sea mining. As Vice President for Research, she uses her expertise in research administration, technology transfer, and partnership building to strengthen and accelerate Bigelow Laboratory’s discoveries and solutions.
