The Frankenstein monster (Boris Karloff reprising his role and investing the character with emotional subtlety) is joined by a mate (Elsa Lanchester) and evolves into a touchingly sympathetic character as he gradually becomes more human. Ernest Thesiger as Dr. Pretorius is captivatingly bizarre.
