Reedmor Books & Brews is an independent bookseller, beer and wine bar, and cafe in Portsmouth, NH. The store is the continuation of a family legacy that started 100 years ago. In 1928 our owner’s great-grandparents, immigrants from the part of Russia that is now Ukraine, opened a retail store in Center City, Philadelphia, called Reedmor Magazine Co. They were the go-to destination for the quirky, hard-to-find, and sometimes controversial books and magazines – a collector’s paradise! After 70 years, three moves, and a storied “main street” history, the bookstore closed its doors in the early 2000s.
Now, the family bookselling story begins a new chapter with Reedmor Books & Brews, a general-interest bookstore for adults, plus the addition of all-day light bites, 11 draft lines featuring a rotation of New England craft breweries, and a collection of wines and non-alcoholic beverages.
