Live Opera Lives! After the incredible response to their performance of Madama Butterfly in November, Teatro Lirico d’Europa will be returning to The Music Hall on April 7th, 2024, with Rossini’s dazzling ll Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville). One of the greatest of all opera buffas, it follows the wily barber Figaro as he helps the young Count Almaviva rescue his beloved Rosina from the clutches of the lecherous Dr. Bartolo.
At 1pm, just prior to the performance, Dennis Neil Kleinman will host an Opera Connection on The Barber talking through the story and characters, digging into the music, and showing clips from a New York City Opera production featuring Beverly Sills at her lively, radiant best. As an added bonus, members of Teatro Lirico d’Europa will be joining us to share their personal insights and answer your questions about Rossini’s madcap masterpiece.
