THELMA is a poignant action-comedy that gives veteran Oscar® nominee June Squibb (NEBRASKA) her first leading role and features the final performance of trailblazing actor Richard Roundtree (SHAFT). Squibb, who did many of her own stunts in the film, plays Thelma Post, a feisty 93-year-old grandmother who gets conned by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson (The White Lotus’ Fred Hechinger) and sets out on a treacherous quest across Los Angeles, accompanied by an aging friend (Roundtree) and his motorized scooter, to reclaim what was taken from her. Parker Posey, Clark Gregg, and Malcolm McDowell also star.

“On paper, Thelma may sound unbearably twee, the kind of film that relies heavily on old people saying the darnedest things to win laughs. But the film is buoyed by a consistently funny script, real pathos and stellar comic performances.” -Empire Magazine
“You don’t need Jason Statham to go after jerks who take advantage of the elderly, not when you have 94-year-old June Squibb packing heat on a fully charged mobility scooter.” -Fort Worth Report
“If it weren’t for casting a bona fide nonagenarian in the title role, Thelma might not work at all. But it doesn’t pander to its audience and treats its characters with dignity and a dash of comic exaggeration.” -Leonardmaltin.com
“On top of the delightful performances by its entire cast and those winking action sequences, Thelma is genuinely one of the funniest films I’ve seen in a while.” -Baltimore Magazine
“Squibb shines, whether Thelma works on her action-star moves or industrious needlepoint projects.” -Phoenix Film Festival
“The thieves may have grabbed this grandma’s stash, but Thelma steals the audience’s hearts.” -AARP Movies for Grownups
