The Music Hall’s signature series invites internationally recognized artists to play in the 895-seat Historic Theater (built in 1878). The Intimately Yours series draws the most talented musicians of our time, from living legends to alt-rock stars.

The Historic Theater was named an American Treasure in 2003 by The Department of the Interior. With a full restoration completed in 2013, the theater now sports a fanciful proscenium arch, a storied dome anchored by a resplendent crystal chandelier, and a fantastical lower lobby with comfortable gathering space and the most talked-about bathrooms in town, with an award-winning design that evokes a Gaudi-esque wonderland.

Today, The Music Hall’s theaters welcome more than 130,000 people annually, and have been lauded as “The beating cultural heart of New Hampshire’s Seacoast” by the Boston Globe.

Newly added: Live streaming is available for Intimately Yours shows!

Past artists include: Ray Lamontagne, Steve Martin, Indigo Girls, Tony Bennett, Trey Anastasio, Melissa Etheridge, Chris Botti, Guster, Keb’ Mo’, Kamasi Washington, Diana Krall, Citizen Cope, Bobby McFerrin, The Milk Carton Kids, Thievery Corporation, Lyle Lovett, Seu Jorge, Tinariwen

Join us for a socially-distanced performance in our Historic Theater with music from around the corner or around the world. Modeled after our Live in The Loft series, this series offers artists more seats and a bigger audience, while staying safe!

The 895-seat Historic Theater is currently seating at a reduced capacity (in following CDC and state guidelines) and boasts a brand new HVAC system with hospital-grade HEPA filters and ionization.

Depending on availability, livestreaming the live performance is a possibility.

In the summer of 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic, the Live Under the Arch series launched in front of the Historic Theater and presented live music, comedy, and literary events safely outdoors.

Positioned underneath the Chestnut Street Arch, a gorgeous public piece of art, the series offers audience members with elegant table settings and cocktail service—all in the open air of the scenic coastal town.

Seating arrangements allow for parties of two, four, and six, totaling 100+ people per set (generally two 60-minute sets). In the case of rain, the event can move indoors for a set-up similar to Live at the Historic Theater

New England winters got warmer and more merry in December 2020! After seeing the success of our outdoor Live Under the Arch series, The Music Hall positioned a similar set-up right on the historic stage, creating a speakeasy with elegant decor, twinkling lighting, and a full martini bar.

Audience members enter through grand stage doors as many artists have done since 1878. Tables are socially-distanced with professional table service, sharable bites, and cocktails. The auditorium opens up for stunning views from seats on stage.

The Stage Door Cabaret series seats 50+ people at two sets, seated under 70 feet high ceilings and a brand new HVAC system with hospital-grade HEPA filters and ionization.
